Your Rights Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) are guaranteed by New Zealand law. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes those rights.
Under the CGA, goods supplied to consumers must be:
- -Of acceptable quality (safe, durable, free from minor defects, acceptable in appearance, and fit for their ordinary purpose)
- -Fit for any particular purpose made known to us before purchase
- -Consistent with their description or any sample shown
If goods fail to meet a CGA guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy. For a major failure, you may choose to reject the goods and receive a full refund, or retain them and receive compensation. For a minor failure, we may choose to repair or replace the goods.
Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Goods
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or is not as described, please contact us as soon as possible - ideally within 48 hours of delivery.
We will assess the issue and, in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, arrange a repair, replacement, or refund at no cost to you (including return freight for eligible claims).
How to Start a Return
- 1.Call us on 09 558 4981 or email admin@oppeinfurniture.co.nz with your order number and reason for the return.
- 2.For damaged or faulty goods, include clear photographs showing the issue.
- 3.We will respond within 2 business days with return instructions.
- 4.Ship the item back using the method we advise. For CGA-related returns, we will cover return freight costs.
- 5.Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund or replacement within 5 business days.
Refunds
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5 business days of us receiving the returned item and confirming its condition. Card refunds may take an additional 3-5 business days to appear on your statement depending on your bank.
Original delivery charges are non-refundable unless the goods were faulty or incorrect.
